Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. F. Butter a 9x13-inch casserole dish
In a medium skillet, brown the sausage over medium-high heat, stirring occasionally.
Stir in the cream cheese, until melted. Stir in the green chiles, if using.
Unroll 1 can of the crescent rolls and place along the bottom of the casserole dish. Evenly spoon the sausage mixture on top. Top with the remaining can of crescent rolls.
Bake for about 25 minutes, or until golden brown. About 5 minutes, before the casserole is finished with cooking, sprinkle with the Parmesan cheese and bake until melted. Let cool slightly before serving.
