Faith, Family and the Feast Cookbook

(1 customer review)

Food is what brings families, friends and neighbors together. We wanted this cookbook to not only be a collection of recipes but filled with stories, poems and vivid pictures that illustrate the importance of sharing food and fellowship.

In our first cookbook, A Taste of Cowboy, we shared our cowboy cooking roots with hearty yet simple recipes. We wanted to continue in that tradition yet open up the gate a bit and share more variety on the table. In Faith, Family & the Feast, we’ve added more garden fresh ingredients, an entire chapter on grilling recipes and tips and comfort foods sizzling in the iron skillet.

Praise for Faith, Family and the Feast:

“Shannon and Kent Rollins exemplify quintessential rural America, a place where family values are sacred and community ties are strong. Weaving family recipes with deeply personal stories, they take you on a spiritual journey, giving you a glimpse of a slow and deliberate lifestyle that remains unmarked by time. You’ll be inspired to gather your own family around the table, feed them with these delicious dishes, and create in your own home the tangible feelings of love, warmth, and fellowship that spill from the pages of Faith, Family, & the Feast.”
-Amy Mills and Mike Mills, owners of 17th Street Barbecue and authors of Peace, Love, and Barbecue and Praise the Lard

“Reading Kent Rollins’ chuckwagon recipes, no fancy ingredients here, and gazing at his wife Shannon’s mouthwatering photos, no fancy food stylists here, are as comforting as a campfire and a guitar. Their book is right out of a Currier and Ives print, full of cast iron, logs, masa, corn meal, smoke, frying, and the Oklahoma cowboy drawl. If you ever wanted to be a cowboy when you grew up, as did I, and ride, and rope, and brand, and cook under the stars, then this book is as close as you can get. Sweeter than his ‘Naner Pudding and left me ‘hungrier than a one winged chicken hawk.’”

Meathead, barbecue whisperer from, and author of “Meathead, The Science of Great Barbecue and Grilling”.

“Authentic and delicious! Kent Rollins knows food and he knows how to bring stories of the American West to life. It doesn’t get any better than the great food with original ingredients that Kent shares in this cookbook. I’m a big fan.”

Probably the best cookbook I have ever invested in, not to mention the soul of heartfelt love of our country and the freedoms we have. Kent and Shannon bring out the best in faith and find the words to lift up the wonderful pictures while guiding a superb book of nourishment of the soul and our taste buds. They open a portal to the old west like none other with a dash of cowboy humor that will bring a smile to any chef of any level. I will buy more for Christmas for other family members, perfect gift at the perfect time.
