Banana Split Cobbler - Cowboy Kent Rollins

Prep Time 10 minutes
Total Time 50 minutes
Servings 8 -10 servings

Ingredients

  • 1 stick butter melted
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 2 teaspoons salt
  • 4 teaspoons baking powder
  • 2 teaspoons cinnamon
  • 2 cups milk
  • 3 teaspoons vanilla
  • 1 29 ounce can sliced peaches in light syrup
  • 1 heaping cup sliced strawberries
  • 2 bananas sliced into ¼ - inch rounds
  • 1 cup Hershey’s Kisses
  • Maraschino cherries for topping
  • Ice cream for serving

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.
  • Grease a 12 inch deep Dutch oven or 9 x 13-inch baking dish. Pour in the melted butter.
  • In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, salt, baking powder and cinnamon.
  • Whisk in the milk and vanilla.
  • Pour the batter in the Dutch oven or dish. Drain half the liquid from the peaches and scatter evenly over the batter. Evenly top with the strawberries and bananas.
  • Bake for 30 to 40 minutes, when the top is browned, evenly top the cobbler with the Hershey’s Kisses, pushing them down slightly. Bake an additional 5 minutes.
  • Remove the cobbler from the oven and let it rest for about 15 to 20 minutes. Top with ice cream and cherries. Serve warm.
  • Note: A shorter cook time will create a more liquidy consistency. Increase your baking time, for a more cake-like consistency. Poking holes down in the cobbler as it cooks, will allow the cobbler to bake through a little more.
