Well, folks glad y'all could join me today because we're in a place that I've been waiting to come see for a long time
0:05
And what is that? Hastie baked grills in Tulsa, Oklahoma. We've partnered up with Rich and this good bunch of folks that he's got here to make some of them Bertha stoves
0:14
Y'all have been after for a long time. So come on, because I ain't going to wait long. For some of y'all that maybe not have seen that Old Bertha and things that I've been cooking with for years and years
0:26
you know, me and Old Bertha started out on ranches so many years ago, like 20
0:29
27, 28 years ago, because I really didn't want to just kneel down on the ground
0:35
dig a hole there, and cook right there in the ground. But guess what? It wasn't too portable
0:44
Armstrong. Wheels make the world go round, but also they make Bertha very portable
0:52
Slips in some channel iron slots right there, or means square tubing. And look here
0:58
Might resemble a wheelbarrow in some. sort, which is easier to move. But let's just say, I really don't like this spot
1:04
berthers in in the backyard. Let's get seven guys over here to help us move it. No, not no more
1:12
And them tires solid rubber they away from the firebox enough that they don get hot because we had it plumb full of musket and we ain burn a tire up yet One of the things that had me the most excited about when I seen them and we designed this me and Rich and their staff there was what are we going to do
1:29
We're going to put a bottom in it. Yeah, that Bertha, I got that old one. Something it never had was just a bottom
1:35
It just sat right there on the ground, not no more. I want you to look in here
1:40
Bertha has got what we call a bottom there in her. And let me tell you, it does make a difference
1:47
I've seen me many times. Open that door on Bertha, take the shovel and reach in there and
1:54
get me some coals. And folks, when that fire is licking out here this far to whip the eyelashes
1:58
into shape, you think, I need a longer shovel or what? I'll tell you what, come on around here
2:04
to this site. We need two doors. You can get coals from both ends, but also it helps it
2:14
with a draft better. Adjustable vents to where you can open that air vent as much as you want
2:19
Be able to control that smoke. Now on ranches, old Bertha had this
2:23
She did. You just pull that up, Bird. Got another brace on that end, and this is where we would set coffee pot after it bowled
2:32
Dutch ovens to keep something warm, and another Dutch oven right here
2:36
But sometimes you can get all your stuff on there that you feeding cowboys when it comes serving time All the cooking is over So walk around on here and look what we done put on this side And it is another one
2:51
So you have a kitchen table, dining room set, automatic wood burner, and a cooking device all rolled into one
2:58
Now, old Bertha had three eyes, and they were arranged in any form of fashion you want
3:02
A Dutch oven will fit smoke tight in one of these. In fact, you've got to have one of these handy-dandy tools, and it comes with it
3:09
It does. You just pull that out, and you'll be able to set a 16-inch Dutch oven in there
3:16
This middle one, you can get a 10 in there. And the last one on the end, a 12-inch
3:23
We know that we can fry stuff on it, keep stuff warm on it, get colds out of it to cook with a Dutch oven
3:28
but let's grill some steak, because that's what I like to do. And mine have been used, they have
3:34
because we just got through yesterday, grilling us up some big old ribbyes. come to you shiny brand new they do fit right in there two of them and what do we have a grill now folks
3:48
you can put a lot of stuff on this grill i've had 32 new york strips on here at one time now also
3:55
we have designed this to where we have a heat shield close to the bottom to keep from burning them
4:00
shins off on them hot summertime days to where it deflects the heat back towards the stove and not so much on you So who is this made for Hey it made for anybody that has a love of fire and the love of cooking
4:14
It's a backyard centerpiece, but also you've got a trailer, you can roll it right up there on some ramps
4:19
You can transport it and take it wherever you need to go. These things are so versatile
4:24
But folks, when you set this out there in the backyard, it has become a conversation piece
4:29
something that the neighbors think, who, I'd like to have me one of them. Warm up to it on one of them old cold fall nights where you've got a coffee pot sitting right up here
4:37
Made that cowboy coffee on it. Great for Dutch oven cooking because you're not having your cold sitting there burning your yard up
4:44
You can reach in there with that shovel and get them out of there to cook with the Dutch oven. Take the top out and grill
4:49
But folks, this covers it all. This does it all. This is something that you're going to be proud of
4:55
And guess what? It'll last your lifetime. We understand this really is an investment to y'all
5:00
We do. This is quality. Made in Oklahoma, made in the USA. Since 1948, these folks have been in business
5:09
Folks, that's a pretty good defeat in itself, and that means a lot to me because I know it's going to be quality
5:15
So we'd be honored if Bertha was a part of your family. Let's preserve the cooking heritage and the history that we got going on here with cowboy cooking
5:23
Thank y'all so much, and we'll see you down the train
